Well, it is Wednesday again and believe it or not, it is nearly May. As always, we are planning ahead for this coming weekend and the events Fort Lauderdale has to offer us. South Florida provides an exciting lifestyle as there are numerous venues and things to do. As in most large metropolitan areas, there are vast opportunities to have family fun and learn something new.
Center stage, so to speak is a travelling exhibit entitled:
Brain: The World Inside Your Head.
This exhibit examines our organic mission control, our onboard computer so to speak, our brain a.k.a gray matter. Unlike this man made computer that I sit feverishly typing away on, our brain creates every movement, thought, idea and simple action we create.
In a nutshell, our brain creates our life and as the title of the exhibit indicates, our brain creates “The World” inside our very own head. And now on with the show.
This is the final weekend for this Fort Lauderdale event, Brain: The World Inside Your Head sponsored by Pfizer, Inc.
The conclusion of this event bring some dramatic and inventive offerings for all visitors in Fort Lauderdale. These include interactive technology, 3-d reproductions, virtual reality and hands-on learning all with the aim of probing into this fascinating tool located between our two ears. Think of this exhibit as a geography field trip into the potentials, processes and mysteries that are offered by our very own unique brain.
This exploration will include the evolution of the brain. Other areas that will be explored are:
- Causes and cures of diseases and disorders, including mental illnesses.
- The secrets of sleep and dreams.
- A magical journey into the physicality of the brain.
- The comparison been the brain of animals vs. humans will be explored.
- Brain development and functions.
- What causes disorders and irregularities of our mission control.
- The physical geography of the brain.
And you ask who should go… all ages will be fascinated by this grand tour.
This 5000 square foot traveling roadshow takes place locally at the Museum of Discovery & Science & Automation IMAX. The museum is located at 401 SW 2st Street in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Grab your last chance to attend this fascinating event in Fort Lauderdale: Brain: The World Inside Your Head will depart our fair city on May 3, 2015.
