Oakland Park is a welcoming small city located in Broward County, in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale metro area. It is 3 miles north of downtown Fort Lauderdale, FL and about 30The students are very charming miles north of Miami, FL. Oakland Park earned its name from the excess of oak trees that surrounded the Middle River. The beautiful relaxing community was incorporated on June 10th 1929. However, the subdivision of Oakland Park was established in 1923. The population consisted of only 562 people back then, today the estimated population is said to be over 209,000!
