This coming weekend offers many free (and mostly free) events in the Fort Lauderdale area.

Let’s dig right in…

Free events include:

Entry to the Art and Cultural Center of Hollywood on Sunday, February 21. The hours of operation are from noon to 4 p.m.

Exhibits include:

Rocky Grimes: The self-taught Miami-based artist Rocky Grimes mixes photocopies, found materials, abstract constructs, and polished materials to create his extreme works of art.

Kiki Valdes and her Cartoons, Cowboys, Abstractions and more.
This miscellaneous gatherings of small paintings and studies reference the American Rodeo, Cartoons and Modern Art and art of the 1990’s. Now that is a mix!

Maynard Monrow presents “A Still Life”.This artist’s most recent body of work consists of text-based reinventions of still life and conceptual ideas based on the real world around us.

Additional events in the Fort Lauderdale area include the town of Weston offerings of a FREE “Moonlight Movie in the Park”. This weekend the film, Jurassic World is on offering and is shown on Saturday, February 20 . the showtime is 7:30 p.m. Also taking place this weekend in Weston is her annual “Arts Day “ and takes place in the Town Center on Sunday, February 21.

Heading north to Deerfield Beach is the annual “Renaissance Festival. This extravaganza takes place in Quiet Waters Park and is opened from 10 a.m. to sunset. Rides and games are available for both adults and children. Practice your Renaissances skills and try the traditional pastime of Games of Chance and Skill. I am sure you will marvel at the costumes and traditions presented at this event in the Fort Lauderdale area.

Tickets start at $21.00 for adults and $9.00 for children.
