Events In Hollywood

The art of glassblowing is traditionally not associated within the shores of South Florida. One is more likely to view a skilled craftsman performing his art in the ancient cities of Venice and Milan. Ah alas, this centuries old technique can be found just down the road from Fort Lauderdale. This craft is one of the topics of my discussion this week’s events in Hollywood.

On most Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays evenings between the hours of 7 pm and 10 pm there is a free glassblowing demonstration at a studio in the Visual Arts Pavilion. This studio is located in the heart of Hollywood, at Youngs Circle, in the ArtsPark. I would suggest confirming the times and dates of this event in Hollywood by contacting 954.732.7231.

If you happen to venture to this glassblowing extravaganza on a Friday or Saturday evening, you must stay in Hollywood and enjoy the live musical  performances.  These musical get-togethers are presented in the following arenas:

1. Arts Park Live features a live free music from 8 PM most Saturdays. ArtsPark is located on Hollywood Boulevard and Federal Highway in Hollywood.

2. Hollywood West Concert Series commences most Saturday evenings at 7 PM in the Boulevard Heights Community Center located at 6770  Garfield Street. The number to confirm this performance is 954.967.4235

3. Heading east to the beach in Hollywood is the Broadwalk Friday Fest from the hours of 7 PM to 9 PM. This outdoor musical event takes place at Charnow Park, 300 Connecticut Street. The contact number to confirm the performances is 954.921.3404.

While you are in the area on Friday evenings between 5 PM and 8 PM  in Hollywood, there are free activities for the kiddies of our county including face painting and bounce houses. This adventure fits in nicely with other events in Hollywood.
