Event in Fort Lauderdale | Fort Lauderdale Air Show
The beaches of Fort Lauderdale will be flocked with both tourists and locals this weekend as the annual Fort Lauderdale Air Show takes place officially this weekend, May 7 and 8th.
Prior to the main event in Fort Lauderdale the gala commences on May 5 at 3:30 pm when F-35 Lightning Joint Strike Fighters don the skies over Fort Lauderdale Beach as they enter our airspace in preparation for the grand event. The performance by these F-35 Lightning Joint Strike Fighters will be the first “performance” at a civilian aviation event.
Later in the evening,Thursday (officially Cinco de Mayo – May 5) the public will have the privilege of meeting the crews, pilots and jumpers at The W Hotel. The W Hotel is located at 401 North Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.
And the kick off commences on Saturday, May 7 at 9 am and continues on to 4:00 pm; the hours of the event in Fort Lauderdale are the same for Sunday, May 8. The event includes exhibits and simulators at the location at State Road a1A north of Sunrise Blvd.
The skies of Broward County will be alive with color and roaring sound as performance in the skies starts at 11 am.

Parking is always an issue at this event in Fort Lauderdale. Our sources tell us that parking will be available at the Galleria Mall garage for the price of $20 each day. You can pre-purchase parking passes here. There will be a courtesy bus from the mall to the Birch State Park.
