Evening with Santa
Oakland Park, FL
“Tis the season” as they say, so why not jump in the car, grab your neighbors, even grandma, and head over for an Evening with Santa. Come and join us and build some lasting memories with your family and friends. This event is being hosted by the City of Oakland Park, boasting of their downtown redevelopment with the grand re-opening on December 1st, of Jaco Pastorius Park. Named after a Northeast High School extraordinary talented musician, Jaco Pastorius, considered by many in the music industry as the world’s greatest guitarist. More than 20 years after his untimely death, he was honored on his birthday with a “Jazz on the Green” concert the night of this exciting opening. The park is located at 4000 North Dixie Highway and the Evening with Santa is from 5:00 until 8:30.
Come and see the joy on the faces, as they have their picture taken with Santa Claus and tell him what is on their wish list this holiday season in this Holiday Wonderland. They can visit Santa’s workshop and create a special craft to take home. Cuddle up for a hayride (Florida’s style of a “sleigh ride”) where there will be lots of joyful carolling and reminisce of the days gone by. Of course, there will be plenty of fun and games for the kids of all ages in this magical playland. Serving up some special holiday treats!
And the best part is, it is a FREE event. See why Oakland Park is referred to as a ‘hometown choice,'” working hard at bringing this community together. So check out this newly re-opened park, have a visit with Santa, enjoy some refreshments and go on a joyous filled hayride. This is an evening your kids are sure to remember the whole year through!
